Texas Tech to Open Vietnam Museum

The Texas Aviation Heritage Foundation Inc. has announced the kickoff of a fundraising campaign to establish a Vietnam War museum at Texas Tech in Lubbock.

At a luncheon hosted by the Hillcrest Country Club honoring local pilots who flew in the Vietnam war, U.S. Air Force Col. David Lewis, president of TAFHI, said the goal of the campaign is to raise at least $1 million to aid the Tech Vietnam Center and Archive in building the museum. Lewis said the campaign should be fully in place by August 2014.

“These campaigns generally take awhile,” Lewis said. “Like an airplane, you gotta get out in front of it and do things early.”
