More than 15 years following the crash of the world’s only airworthy example, another de Havilland Mosquito has returned to the air. Jerry Yagen’s KA114, a Canadian-built fighter-bomber variant, flew for the first time Thursday since it arrived in New Zealand. Restoration experts Avspecs Limited near Auckland rebuilt the twin-engined aircraft nicknamed the “Wooden Wonder” for its mostly wood construction.

Restoring a Mosquito would be awesome. I’ve started a fund where anyone can be a part owner of restoring our first project. The F4F Wildcat. Check out my website for additional information if you want to get involved.
