Restored de Havilland Mosquito Flies Again

More than 15 years following the crash of the world’s only airworthy example, another de Havilland Mosquito has returned to the air. Jerry Yagen’s KA114, a Canadian-built fighter-bomber variant, flew for the first time Thursday since it arrived in New Zealand. Restoration experts Avspecs Limited near Auckland rebuilt the twin-engined aircraft nicknamed the “Wooden Wonder” for its mostly wood construction.

  1. Restoring a Mosquito would be awesome. I’ve started a fund where anyone can be a part owner of restoring our first project. The F4F Wildcat. Check out my website for additional information if you want to get involved.
