Patriots Jet Team Headline Oregon Air Show

Organizers made sure that the 2013 Oregon International Air Show would be known for what appeared in the sky above Hillsboro Airport, more than what didn’t appear. Sequestration, otherwise known as federal budget cuts, forced the U.S. Navy Blue Angels to cancel their scheduled appearance, but the air show quickly added the Patriots Jet Team, a six-plane civilian outfit made up of former show pilots from the famous U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds and the Blue Angels. Along with other notable acts, such as Kirby Chambliss and the Red Bull Skydiving Team and Lt. Col. John Klatt of the Air National Guard, the Patriots Jet Team helps make the air show July 26-28 worth the price of admission.
