WW2 Vehicles Turned Into Massive Hedge Cutters in New Zealand
After the end of the Second World War, many thousands of ex-service vehicles were repurposed for civilian use. In New Zealand, a number of ex-NZ Army vehicles were purchased and used by the Butler Brothers, in Taranaki, to create a fleet of vehicles that were used to deal with 'The Boxthorn Problem'.
The boxthorn plant had been introduced into New Zealand from South Africa, for use as hedging material in the salt-laden Taranaki area where other more common hedge plants could not cope with the conditions. Unfortunately the locals found that the boxthorn plant thrived in this environment and that it grew at an incredible rate, meaning that keeping these hedges in trim with manual equipment was just impossible. Enter then the Butler Brothers and their mechanised Frankenstein vehicles...
The Tawhiti Museum in Hawera, South Taranaki, has an impressive collection of the Brothers' early vehicles which were created from a wide assortment of WW2 service vehicles, inducing the LPOP, the Local Pattern ObservationPost wheeled vehicles of which very few now survive anywhere.

The RNZAF Could Fly From The UK To Siberia (Equivalent)
John Lanham discusses how the Royal New Zealand Air Force would refuel their A-4 Skyhawk fighter jets from another jet fighter, and how the RNZAF would routinely undertake massive long-range squadron deployments with their fighters.
This is an updated re-edit of an earlier version (just in case you recognise bits of it) of this video.
