Historic WWII Aircraft to Visit  New England Air Museum


The New England Air Museum has announced that three historic WWII aircraft will be on public display nearby the Museum from Friday, June 8th through Sunday, June 10th.

The aircraft include the B-29 “Fifi” the last fully operational Boeing B-29 Superfortress; the Consolidated B-24 bomber “Diamond Lil” and the P-51 Mustang “Brat III”.  These are three of the most famous aircraft of WWII.  This event is being run in conjunction with the Commemorative Air Force which is flying the aircraft into Bradley Airport.

Tickets to see the aircraft cost $16 for ages 12 & up; $6.50 for age 4-11 and $15 for seniors.  This also includes admission to the Air Museum which is the largest aviation Museum in the Northeast.  Tickets must be purchased at the Museum and include shuttle bus transportation to the aircraft.  The Museum will open at 8:30 a.m. each of the three days with the first shuttle bus to depart at 8:45 a.m.  The last tickets will be sold each day at 4:00 p.m.

While touring the aircraft on display, visitors will have the option to purchase cockpit tours of the B-29 and the B-24 at an additional cost of $5 each.  Ride flights will be offered through the Commemorative Air Force and all three aircraft will fly at various times throughout the event.  For schedules, prices and reservations, visit them at <> .
