Blue Angels Return to LA County Air Show

Some of the world’s finest aircraft is set to take over the skies above California’s Antelope Valley this weekend.

KNX 1070′s Brian Ping reports the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will arrive at Gen. William J. Fox Airfield in preparation for the Los Angeles County Air Show.

While the Air Force typically performed about 1,000 flyovers annually before the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels ceased performing last April, the sequestration cuts in 2013 forced the cancellation of about 2,800 military outreach events nationwide. But with 68 performances scheduled for this season, show organizer Dennis Dunbar said the pilots – and the public – are ready for the Angels’ official comeback.
