Blue Angels Return to California

Blue Angels Return to California

As they have for more than 50 years, the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels took to the skies and returned to their winter home here in El Centro, Calif., Thursday afternoon.

The Navy’s famed flight demonstration squadron traveled from its home in Pensacola, Fla., to El Centro, where it will remain until this year’s Naval Air Facility El Centro Air Show on March 15. Local Navy base Cmdr. Erik Franzen said he was excited to have the annual visitors back on base and is looking forward to the coming weeks.

“The Blue Angels are a world-renowned squadron and having El Centro as a winter home is a sense of pride for the community and the base as well,” Franzen said. “The squadron’s presence is always neat and professional and represents the finest the Navy has to offer.”
