AirVenture 2013 to Open with ‘Jetman,’ Movie

The Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture 2013 will kick off with a concert by Chicago and include an appearance by the YouTube sensation Yves “Jetman” Rossy and a special preview screening of Disney-Pixar’s “Planes,” the EAA said Tuesday.

The event, which runs from July 29 to Aug. 4, will host the rock concert on its opening night in Oshkosh, Wis. The Swiss “Jetman,” who propels himself through the air at more than 150 miles per hour using a four-engine carbon-Kevlar jetwing, will make his public debut in the U.S. on July 30 and also appear on Aug. 1, 3 and 4.

The Disney film, which will be shown Aug. 2, a week before it opens nationwide on Aug. 9, comes from the same world as the 2006 film “Cars.”
