Tulsa Museum Display Highlights MD-80

The Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium has dubbed its new MD-80 exhibit a “Discovery Center.”

Museum officials hope the McDonnell Douglas commercial jetliner now on display can help inspire a new generation to continue Tulsa’s aerospace legacy.

“It’s exhibits like this that might spark the interest of a future pilot, mechanic or engineer,” said Bill Collins, senior vice president of base operations for American Airlines, the company that donated the airplane. Museum officials and others who made the exhibit possible cut the ribbon for the Discovery Center on Monday.
