Planes of Fame WWII Zero to Visit Japan

Planes of Fame WWII Zero to Visit Japan

The world’s only fully authentic and flyable Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero is beginning its third trip to Japan for temporary display. The fighter, built in May 1943 and restored to flying condition in the 1970s by the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, Calif., was taken apart this week and placed in shipping containers for the long sea voyage to the Tokorozawa Aviation Museum near Tokyo. Lucky visitors will be able to view the Nakajima Sakae 31-powered plane from December to early spring when the Zero will shipped back to California.
