Holloman AFB Event to Feature Variety

Aerial acts and more than 400 aircraft will be on static display at the 2014 Holloman Air Force Base Open House, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 10.

Aerial acts at the base, near Alamogordo, N.M., include the Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor demonstration team with a Heritage Flight at 11:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., North American P-51D Mustang and flybys from the General Atomics MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper, the Northrop T-38 Talon, the Lockheed Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon, German Air Force Panavia Tornado and more scheduled throughout the day.

Aircraft on static display include the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II, Lockheed AC-130W Stinger II, Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle, McDonnell Douglas KC-10 Extender, the Boeing C-17 Globemaster and more.

The 49th Wing’s famed Lockheed F-117A Nighthawk will also be on display. Holloman was the only home of the F-117 from 1992 to 2006. The aircraft took part in Operation Allied Force in 1999 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
