March Base Air Show Returns

March Base Air Show Returns

The commander of California’s March Air Reserve Base is throwing what amounts to a block party, for half a million people.

“This really is about the community and the great support we get around here,” Brig. Gen. Russell Muncy said of the base’s air show on April 16-17. “I’ve never been to a base that has better community support than March Air Base and we couldn’t be happier.”

The weekend’s free show, headlined by the Thunderbirds, the U.S. Air Force precision flying team, is the first the base has had in four years. That’s the longest gap between air shows since March began hosting such events in the early 1970s.
